Microsoft giveth and Microsoft taketh away. Earlier this summer, we were promised a shiny new Copilot feature, one where Copilot could analyze whatever was shared onscreen during recorded Teams meetings. No admin controls, just straight access to whatever ended up on your screen. Roadmap ID 325873 and Message Center MC998512 https://lnkd.in/gRM5YA4F if you want to check.
Well, here we are in August, and Microsoft has done a complete U turn. The feature is off the table, at least for now. We are back to Copilot working off transcripts and chat only. No screenshare analysis, no context from those awkwardly shared inboxes or the wrong PowerPoint deck.
I have to wonder if the lack of admin controls is exactly why this was paused. Anyone else think the idea of Copilot indexing anything shown for ten seconds is a little too risky for comfort? It is not hard to imagine someone sharing a confidential dashboard, or letโs be honest, their personal email by mistake, and having Copilot log the whole thing.
That is where tools like DeltaPulse pay off. If you did not catch this rapid change, DeltaPulse already flagged it for you, showed the message center reversals, and keeps your IT team out in front of Microsoftโs shifting plans.
So, what is your take? Is this all about admin controls, or do you think there is something else behind the curtain? Anyone with more details, feel free to chime in below.
